发烟管作为气体检测的辅助工具，是用来测定管道中气流的流向及流速的，管子里填充了容易发烟的物质氯化锡。
使用时弄断管子的两端，把一头插入吸耳球的入口，另一端置于待测管道处，然后轻捏吸耳球，管子的物质喷出，与空气中水分反应，发出白烟。从而判断待测管道中气体流向及流速。
发烟管可重复使用，每次待测完毕后，用所附的橡胶帽盖上即可。（发烟管No.501，6支/盒）

Break off both ends of the smoke tube and attach a rubber squeeze bulb to one end of the tube. When the bulb is squeezed, a chemical reaction produces white smoke. This smoke makes the air flow （in ventilation systems/ducts, etc.） visible.
