1. How it works

High shear dispersing is to disperse one or several phases into another continuous phase quickly and evenly, which in normal case are immiscible to each other. The high speed rotation of the rotor sucks materials into the narrow gaps between the precision-engineered stator/rotor assembly, where they are subjected to intense

mechanical and hydraulic shear, materials are rapidly mixed, dispersed, emulsified and homogenized with great efficiency. Along with the correct processing and proper additives, end products are produced with high stability.

2. Typical Applications

The BK-Y50-PLUS High Shear Homogenizer is synonymous with high performance and long service life. It is suitable for the widest variety of applications: mixing, dispersing, emulsifying, homogenizing, disintegrating, dissolving, etc. The typical involved industries are pharmaceuticals, biochemical, food, nanophase materials,

coatings, cosmetics, adhesives, paints and lacquers, dyeing, paper-making, mineral salt, polyurethane, asphalt or heavy-oil emulsification, farm chemical, organ silicon, waste water treatment, battery, etc.

The standard configuration of FA25 includes a 500W motor with a lifting stand, and 25F dispersing tool. There are several motors and a variety of dispersing tools available for different application and requirements.

6. Operation

6.1 Please read the Safety Instructions carefully before operation.

6.2 The machine must work with liquid sample. The PTFE bushing or mechanical seal of the dispersing tool must be immersed totally in the liquid.

6.3 The distance between dispersing tool bottom and the container bottom should be no less than 10mm due to sucking force of the dispersing tool when it is running. The dispersing tool should be placed eccentrically.

6.4 Check the power supply meets the requirement of the machine.

6.5 Fasten all the screws and other flexible parts before operation.

6.6 Check that there is no hard pieces in the container to avoid any collision to the stator and rotor.

6.7 Start the motor from the lowest speed. The electrical speed adjustor may reduce the speed automatically in case the sample is too viscous. It is suggested in this case that the viscosity should be reduced.

6.8 It is suggested to add the sample with low viscosity first, and samples with higher viscosity later.

6.9 The PTFE bushing should be changed to bronze one if the working temperature is above 120.

6.10 If the speed is much lower even though it is at idle running, the carbon bush should be changed by qualified staff.

6.11 Only use Homogenizer spares and parts.

6.12 Change the PTFE bushing if it is worn or the gap between it and the shaft is too big.
