它潜伏期不 易确定，感染后可长期无症状，多数在感染后半年左右缓慢发病 ，病程较长，也可再一次重症感染后急性发病。症状随虫体寄生 的部位不同而异。以胸、腹、脑损害的表现为多见。卫氏并殖吸 虫成虫体肥厚，背侧略隆起，腹面扁平。活体呈红褐色，并透明 。固定标本呈椭圆形，体长7.5-12mm，宽4-6mm，厚3.5-5.0mm， 宽长之比约1：2。除口吸盘、主要因虫体移行引起组织破坏和出 血。肉眼可见病变处呈窟穴状或隧道状，内有血液，有时可见虫 体。随之，出现炎性渗出，内含中性粒细胞及嗜酸性粒细胞等。 接着，病灶四周产生肉芽组织而形成薄膜状脓肿壁，并逐渐形成 脓肿。X线显示边缘模糊，界限不清的浸润影。伴有胸水时，肋膈 角变钝。肿期由于渗出性炎症，大量细胞浸润、聚集，zui后细胞 死亡、崩解液化，脓肿内容物逐渐变成赤褐色粘稠性液体。镜下 可见坏死组织、夏科雷登结晶和大量虫卵。
