平滑肌纤维呈长梭形,无横纹。平滑肌受自主神经支配,为不随
意肌。该肌收缩缓慢、持久。细胞核一个,呈长椭圆形或杆状,
位于中央,收缩时核可扭曲呈螺旋形,核两端的肌浆较丰富。平
滑肌纤维大小不一,一般长200μm,直径8μm;小血管壁平滑肌
短至20μm,而妊娠子宫平滑肌可长达500μm。平滑肌主要分布于
血管、气管、胃、肠等壁内。平滑肌纤维可单独存在,绝大部分
是成束或成层分布的。
平滑肌纤维表面为肌膜,肌膜向下凹陷形成数量众多的小凹
(caveola)。目前认为这些小凹相当于横纹肌的横小管。肌浆网
发育很差,呈小管状,位于肌膜下与小凹相邻近。核两端的肌浆
内含有线粒体、高尔基复合体和少量粗面内质网以及较多的游离
核糖体,偶见脂滴。平滑肌的细胞骨架系统比较发达,主要由密
斑、密体和中间丝组成。密斑和密体都是电子致密的小体,但分
